Ranges can be used for baking, broiling, and much more. So, it’s important to maintain it and do whatever we can to extend its lifespan. By following these tips, you are doing yourself and your range a favor.

Clean and Replace Filters

It’s imperative to clean or switch out these filters regularly, as they trap grease, smoke and odors. To keep it actually working clean with soapy water, or switch out your charcoal filters.

Clean Gas Burners

If a burner is clogged, don’t ignore it. Simply take a pin and clean the ports to keep them in working order. However, don’t use a toothpick as it could break off into the hole and cause an obstruction. 

Check the Oven Gasket Door Seal

The gasket, or door seal, is exposed to a large amount of heat. If it is not sealing properly, heat will leak out  and you will end up heating your kitchen, not your oven. So, make sure to check for cracks or frays and clean them regularly.

Clean Messes Up Right Away

When you spill something, especially under the burner, sometimes we tend to just let it sit. This is a bad habit, and by doing this you could damage the finish of your range. After the range cools, clean the mess up using warm, soapy water to prevent any harm to your cook top.
